I Tried Skiing at 66

Second Day in Shiga Kogen

Today, everyone was lethargic and slept in. There's been a lot of grumbling over last nights dinner and whether or not we should move to another hotel. We decide to stay, but we'll stock up at lunch time with additional food to have at night if the evenings meal is not up to snuff.

Kim wouldn't come down for breakfast and Julie came late and only had a little bit of food. Conrad has a very sore right elbow after his boarding accident yesterday, so he's going to take some Ibuprofen to address the inflamation and have a shower in our room. He felt better after that.

I decide to try skiing, but I'm not certain if I still have it. Doubt it, as my hips are aching, my knees are loose and I'm out of practice by many, many years.

In any case, I hired ski's, boots and poles for one day only for 5,000 yen. Pretty good price. I think I fell down at least 4, maybe 5 times. I was buggered by the time I got to the bottom and decided to call it a day on ski's.

Went back to the room, but it was only 11:00am and the Spa doesn't open til 12:00 noon, so I'll have to wait before my relieving soak. Clare and the girls came back from their trip to scour for food and Clare purchased a lot of bakery goods including pies and sausage rolls for tonights back up dinner.

I finally got my soak down in the hot tub, but unfortunately it was still only half full, but it was enough to get some heat into my bones. Clare and I then went for lunch down stairs and each had a large pint of Asahi draught (was good) and food. Lunch was actually good, much better than what the serve in the evening.

After lunch, Clare and I had a nap and it turned out, so did the kids. We just chilled in our rooms until bedtime.
